Department of Health Sciences
Welcome to the Department of Health Sciences, one of six departments at the Faculty of Medicine, Lund University. We conduct research within the field of health sciences that covers all age groups – from the yet unborn babies to the oldest among the elderly.
About the department
Through our research, we increase knowledge and understanding of human health and quality of life. We work in close collaboration with health care and municipalities to translate research results into practical activities.
The department are closely linked to health care nationally and internationally, primary care and municipal activities.
We conduct postgraduate education and our teachers are involved in the education of care and rehabilitation staff at undergraduate and advanced level.

Organisation
The department is headed by a department board, consisting of the head of department, representatives of teachers and researchers, other staff, student representatives and representatives of the health care system. The head of department has overall responsibility for operations.
The Department Office is a support and service function for the department management and operations with functions within personal, finance, administration and communication. The department's research groups are organized directly under the head of department.
