The breadth and depth in Lund University’s research and education is unique in northern Europe. Medical research has become more and more costly. External funding is therefore playing an increasingly important role in pursuing cutting-edge projects, and staying at the forefront of scientific development. Donations are an important supplement to government funding and in some cases vital to continued success within many of the university’s research fields.
