Collaboration: Public healthcare
Lund University and public healthcare strive together to develop new methods to combat and prevent disease.
The findings from basic research are converted by clinical researchers into practical healthcare, while clinical observations in turn become new challenges for basic research. In addition to research, the faculty also trains future public healthcare staff. A large part of this training takes place within healthcare, in the form of practical internships in clinics and laboratories.
Collaborations
Lund University and Region Skåne have an extensive collaboration to promote the development of public healthcare and clinically-oriented medical research in the region. This collaboration is formalised through the ALF agreement. We are also represented in each other’s management teams and joint specialised centres.
In addition to the agreement with Region Skåne, we also have a collaboration body with Malmö University, Kristianstad University and Region Skåne, called LUMARS.
